Our #GoldMedalGoal moment is from the head boy’s basketball coach at Booker T. Washington, Eli Brown. We have been fortunate enough to have Eli’s daughter participate in our program.
Due to COVID, we really need your help. As a non-profit organization, Aim High Academy’s mission only survives with the support of those committed to offering financial contributions that allow us to provide scholarship awards to children from low-income families. Currently, our scholarship program benefits over 200 students' tuition assistance allowing them to participate in sports that have been traditionally available to only a select few.

Nadia Comaneci AND Bart Conner
Today’s video is brought to you by our Gold Medal Goal sponsor, Scissor-tail Construction. We are starting off Gold Medal Goal with a PERFECT 10. Thank you, to our long-time friends, Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner for supporting Aim High Academy.
Nadia Comaneci captured the hearts and mind of the world at the 1976 Olympics, which ended with her earning seven perfect tens, three gold medals, one bronze, one silver and countless fans. Four years later at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, Comaneci earned two more gold medals and two silver medals.
Even though Nadia won a total of nine Olympic medals, five of them gold, she will always be remembered at the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 and leave her indelible mark on the history of the Olympics.
Bart Conner is the only American male gymnast to win gold medals at every level of national and international competition. Conner was a member of three Olympic Teams in 1976, 1980 and 1984. It was in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics where he made a dramatic comeback from his second torn biceps injury to win two gold medals, one as a member of the US team. Conner earned his second gold with a score of perfect 10 on the parallel bars.
Today, Conner and Comaneci are involved in several international charities including the Executive Board of Special Olympics International. Conner also serves as the Chairman of the Board of the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame, and an advisory board member of the OU College of International Studies.
Conner and Comaneci also collaborate annually with several key sports entities in Oklahoma City to put on the Bart & Nadia Sports Experience which is designed to encourage Oklahoma children to “take ownership” of their wellness by engaging in fun, positive sports and fitness activities.
